If we had been together in Memphis during our engagement or had been there to begin our married life, we would have loved walking alongside of them. This journey is better traveled in the presence of godly friends who want the same things in life and share the same values.
Though we are living far apart, I feel giving priority to our time together when we are in town is still giving us this opportunity to travel together through life. Matt and I cherish this time. We crave it and sometimes wish we were still in Memphis, if for no other reason than to be face-to-face with them more often. They do our hearts good. And in the meantime, in their absence, all our Lorelei and Boaz pictures have done our hearts good. :)
One of my biggest missed opportunities on one of our last visits was getting a picture of Chris spinning Lorelei on the floor. Really, I'd need a video for you to get the full, delightful effect.
Here are a few pictures I took on one of our visits:
I think Boaz was drooling at the time :)
Lorelei and I were playing with her marbles.
This shows their personalities.
Just us girls :)
We typically make plans to visit them at their house since it's easier to visit with the kids on their own turf. On a recent visit, I found myself receiving a tour of Lorelei's room, the opportunity to read her a few books, to check out her fish tank and play marbles downstairs. Boaz was my little cuddle buddy.
Dawn and I had time to talk, to catch up on the latest things in life. Matt and Chris had their guy time too. Since they live in the country, the setting is perfect for what our visits are like. Relaxed, refreshing, casual, genuine, pleasant, carefree, encouraging, enriching...these are the ways we enjoy spending time with our dear friends in the country.
