The stage before the show. We couldn't take photos during the show :(
You can sort of see our faces in this shot. Must not have had on the flash...
One of the things that made it so great is that the theater was small and we got our seats bumped up very close to the stage!! We saw every detail!
If you're not familiar with this show, the performers use household items (plungers, brooms, kitchen sinks, metal trashcans, newspapers, matchbooks, broomsticks, etc.) as percussion instruments. They even use their hands to make a variety of sounds against their own bodies. There were eight performers who had an amazing level of synchronicity. They didn't use any words in the show, but used a variety of facial expressions and non-verbal interaction between performers to give the show a lot of personality and humor. We laughed the entire time.
Ever since, Matt will pat or thump me saying it's much more fun to make music on me than on himself. :) I have to admit, I've taken my turn patting out a beat on him a time or two...On the airplane and in the airport coming back from Memphis to name a couple. Haha! He just kept reading his paper and responded with a slight grin.
If you have the chance, don't miss the show! You'll love it!
