Recently, a coworker of Matt's visited the plant to review some paperwork, etc. and she came in the midst of a full-blown upper respiratory illness. She works long hours and seems always to push hard against her limitations. Even though I respect her work ethic, being around other people while contagious is ill advised.
This is a sampling of the aftermath:
In the last 2 1/2 years I've known Matt to be sick only once. In that time, as I recall, I've had equally good fortune.
After two days of exposure to his coworker, Matt came home feeling very poorly. He had what seemed to be a classic head cold. Needless to say, he didn't sleep well those nights. He tried not to expose me to the germs as well.
Unfortunately, after going to bed with my hair slightly wet one night, I had already been a little under the weather. Mainly, I had a cough that showed up as soon as I'd lay down to sleep.
Disrupting nights like those tempt me to sleep upright or in another room. Matt's sleep is an invaluable commodity in this household.
I'm praying we'll have another long streak of good health now that we are well again. God has truly blessed us with health and wellness for most of our days. We are grateful.
