B.L.A.T.T.

On a Friday night recently, I needed a simple yet tasty recipe for dinner. I also had a couple of items in the fridge that needed to be used sooner than later. With a little help from allrecipes.com I found a sandwich recipe that looked good.

True to form, I adjusted the recipe and must admit, I stumbled upon a GREAT tasting sandwich.

Here's the recipe for a B.L.A.T.T. sandwich:

B.L.A.T.T. (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Turkey, Tomato)

Ingredients:
·      4 slices of white sandwich bread
·      1 large leaf Romaine lettuce, halved
·      1 tomato, peeled and sliced thinly
·      1 avocado, sliced
·      4 slices turkey (I used slices from a precooked turkey breast.)
·      4 or 5 slices of bacon
·      Salt and pepper to taste
·      Your preferred condiment (I used Ranch dressing on mine; Matt used spicy brown mustard).

Directions:
Cook bacon on medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes. Place on a paper towel lined plate to drain. Toast bread. Wash, peel and/or slice other ingredients. Sprinkle tomato slices with salt and pepper to taste. Spread preferred condiment on each slice of bread and layer with bacon, turkey, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Cut sandwiches in half on the diagonal and stake each half with a toothpick before serving. Yield: 2 servings.
