For those of you who've moved far away from family and friends to plant your life in a new place, you know it's no small thing to find that one heart-friend to help you feel more at home. That one person who you click with almost instantly; the one whose values and beliefs are most closely to your own; the one who has a heart that's wide-open to loving who God created you to be.
This is my sweet friend, Hannah.
It's rare in life to have that kind of friend and
certainly to have more
than one in your lifetime. What a gift God has given me to have
treasured friends where I've come from and here at home.
There were two things on the top of Matt's and my prayer list before we moved: That we'd find a church home as richly rewarding as our time at Bellevue and that we'd find godly couple-friends that we'd enjoy (in particular, one couple who we'd both mesh with well).
Thank you, Lord, for answering that prayer through Jordan and Hannah Flesher.
Very special!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a relatively new children's pastor...that's the dept that Donald and I serve it. They moved here from Florida and I dare say that this is the exact relationship you describe here. Instant click. It's been a huge blessing to us...and to them, as they are far from home and family like you.
