A few weeks ago we were initiated to our first game night with a few couple-friends. The men were gathered in one room and the women in another. We ate a great meal, talked for quite a while and then settled in to play a new game one of the couples brought: Quelf.
Quelf is an interesting game. In order to enjoy the game, you really need to have few inhibitions as you play. In the last couple of years, I've learned to throw off many of my inhibitions when I'm with friends. As a result, I had a good time playing Quelf.
As you play the game, you draw cards that assign you tasks to complete. More often than not, you are to keep the assigned task to yourself until you have fulfilled the requirements.
What were some of my tasks? I had to attempt doing the splits, going as low to the floor as possible. When I gave it my best shot, I got a few compliments for how well I achieved the goal. :)
My most challenging task of the night was to write a five line rap about my appearance and perform it before my next turn. The delivery left something to be desired, but I think it turned out pretty well for the minute I spent writing it.
Here it is:
Matt kept it and framed it for me for Christmas.
You can't quite read it? Ok, I'll tell you what I wrote:
My white girl skin is actually brown,
I may be tall but I sure ain't thin,
My hair may be black but my roots are blonde,
I may look preppy but my husband knows I'm sexy,
My brown eyes may seem plain but I'm no plain Jane.
I hope you're laughing right now :)
A couple of days later Matt made the comment, "You're really proud of this, aren't you?" For those of you who've known me for a long time, you'll understand I'm proud of what it represents. There was a time I wouldn't have even played the game, much less taken this challenge and followed through on it. These are better days...
Love it! You did great! I've played that game once or twice....hilarious!! Way to go, "sexy"! ;-)
