Caramel Bars

Here's a little report on my recent baking ventures. This is a caramel bar:


I can't recall where I found the recipe, but it's a keeper. For those of you who are chocolate lovers, this only has a small amount so it's not a dominant flavor.

After baking the caramel bars, I baked an old favorite: Turtle Brownies. 


Not long ago, Rosedale had a dessert social where members were able to enter their desserts to win a contest for the best tasting sweet. I toyed with entering these, but didn't. By the time I made it down the long series of tables full of desserts, there wasn't a single crumb or smear of caramel left in the dish! I think they liked it. 

Baking probably won't ever be something I love to do, but it sure would be nice to collect a few good recipes for when I want to contribute to a potluck at church or meal at a friend's house. Caramel Bars have just been added to that list.
