Challenging Finish

If you've been keeping up, you know I've written a couple of times about the T.V. setup in the living room. The last report was that I finally figured out where to put the DVD player and cable box. The final step to complete this pesky little project is hiding all the cords to improve the aesthetics.

One day last week, when I knew Matt had a business meeting and wouldn't be home for dinner, I took advantage of the opportunity to delve into this project. With all that extra time (from not having to cook), I could spare a few minutes to hide the cords and would still have tons of time left to do other things on my long list.

To my surprise and chagrin, this little project took me all afternoon and even into the evening. I barely had enough time to finish and straighten up the room before Matt arrived home.

Nevertheless, it is done now and I am pleased with the results:

In person you can tell it has a nice clean look.

Matt didn't notice it immediately, but it didn't take him long (2 minutes, maybe). He said that it looks really good. What a relief! If only I'd thought of this solution earlier...my guess is that we'll finally have this place situated the way I want it right before we move again.

I hear my Dad's voice in my ear saying, "Such is life!"...and so it is.
