I'll Be Back

Two years ago at the Regel family Christmas (2010), everyone was abuzz about Matt. He's the only person I ever brought around my family, so they were quite interested. In their reserved proper formality, he didn't pick up on any of it. Since I was with him the entire time, I admit I didn't either. It was only later that my mom, dad and sister mentioned all of the questions that spilled out as soon as we left a room :)

At one pivotal moment during dinner, Matt simply said, "I'll be back." Since we weren't even officially dating at that point, all I can say is I'm glad he's a man of his word. 

We didn't make it back in 2011, the year we married, since we were headed to Louisiana at Christmastime. That was one of the only years I've ever missed. I think I missed once for work years ago and once to go to a singles Christmas party at Bellevue in 2009 (knowing Matt would be there). 

Even though he missed the Regel family Christmas this year, he would have been there if work hadn't gotten in the way. He was looking forward to it. As it turned out, I was there with my parents speaking of him to my family, wishing he could be there, but glad I was.

Cousins and second cousins were there too; so, where are the candids, you ask? Come on, you know me! I was too busy talking to take action shots.
