Matt and I love our friends The Rockholts and we couldn't wait to see them again.
That's one reason I planned to be with them toward the end of our visit. By then I was sure we'd have fit in as many other visits as were possible and we'd have a block of time to linger with them. We spent all afternoon and early into the evening hanging out with them at their place.
Lorelei showed me her room. Introduced me to her fish. Asked me to read her some books (and of course I did!). She was eager to introduce us to Boaz as soon as we arrived. In fact, she even invited me to hold him (and later invited me to stop holding him! haha). We had a fun time talking and visiting with one another.
Boaz was great too. He mainly rested comfortably as I held him. Except when I first took him...he wiggled so much I thought he'd wiggle right off my shoulder.
Dawn and I talked up a storm and it was so great to catch up on all that life has brought our way in these last months. We've both experienced a lot of change and transition, for different reasons and with incredibly wonderful outcomes. It's amazing how God takes care of us and shows us how He's at work doing things for our good.
It was a great weekend spent with old friends. My prayer was that we'd feel refreshed. It was refreshing indeed.
